On September 13th – 15th, 2017, the Fifth China Digital Pipeline Technology Conference was held in Beijing National Conference Center with the theme of "China Digital Pipeline" and "Intelligence" Leading Industrial Upgrading. The Conference focused on China's pipeline development strategy, drawing lessons from domestic and foreign pipeline information construction experience, making full use of advanced information technologies such as big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and integrating them into pipeline construction. In this way, the construction and operation of oil and gas pipelines in China will be safer, more intelligent, more efficient and more environmentally friendly.
Invited by the conference organizor, Zeng Bochun, manager of Honlitech, made a speech on "Advanced Digital Pipeline Technology – 3D Laser Scanning". He mentioned that the digital means of pipeline in China at present stage are 2D drawings and 3D models. But they are not consistent with the actual situation, which will cause problems in operation and maintenance management and accurate positioning. However, advanced and mature 3D laser scanning technology has been widely used in the field of petrochemical industry abroad, and has become a part of the standard operation process. Scanning data processing was also explained in detail.
